Between low battery life and no consistent ability to make or receive phone calls, along with numerous other complaints, Samsung needs to recall the Note 20 Ultra 5 G.  Clearly Samsung and all carriers are aware of major issues with this phone.  They are across all carriers so not carrier issue.  Since Note 3 I have had no issues with calling.  Had every Note since then.  Camera is only upgrade on the Ultra 20 and I did not need a $1200 camera.

Update 7/31:  after a month of multiple Verizon techs attempting to fix, I went to the Greensboro NC store where purchased phone in April.  Techs in store were all VERY aware of this issue and said Samsung is also Very Aware it is software issue on new Notes and Flips ongoing between Samsung and Google.  They said Sansung reps visited their store to make then aware of this.  Pending a much-needed Samsung software update to permanently solve problem, or class action lawsuit, they installed app Samsung Band Selection downloaded from Google Play and selected LTE ALL as temporary fix to make and receive calls whether 4G or 5G available.  That is for all carriers..  not limited to any carrier and Nationwide defects.  So far that has worked for me today.  Ridiculous no Samsung staff clearly active here, or  12 different Verizon techs I have spent 10+ hours dealing with past month are aware of this.

@user3OYAI9TeW4 My Note 20 Ultra 5G has none of those issues. The battery lasts well over a day, usually 36 hours or more.

You may have a lemon device or have a 3rd party app interfering with proper operation.

You can do some testing on your own using the Samsung Members app. Open the app, click Get help, click on Interactive checks. You will see multiple tests that you can run.

You can also boot into safe mode and see if the issues persist while booted in safe mode.

You can make an appointment with https://www.ubreakifix.com/ to have them evaluate your device.

Idk, maybe you just got a bad batch. I have a Note 20 Ultra and it works just fine. My batter life lasts about 16 hours, using the phone moderately. I've never had a problem making and getting phone calls.

As with any phone/computer/TV(anything really) sometimes people will receive defective devices. It happens. My suggestion would be to contact Samsung and/or your carrier and see if they can help you with getting a new phone.

I've had my ultra for 3 weeks now and it functions seamlessly..Battery last all Day through moderate use, calls not an issue. Only thing I would say negative is the fingerprint sensor is beyond touchy and needs improvement.

My unlocked Note 20 ultra purchased direct from Samsung doesn't have the issue stated in this thread. I have no doubt the original poster has an issue and I would really upset too. But a recall or class action might be an overreaction. If the Note 20 Ultra issue was wide spread why are individuals lobbying so hard to try and get Samsung to make a Note 22. If problems were widespread across all carriers I doubt if there would be a demand for a newer version. I sure hope the OP gets a resolution to their issues. You do have expectations that when you pay the cost of these phones that you can make calls and not have to have the phone plugged in all the time.
