QuestionsHello, I've had my classic watch 4 for a couple years. But recently when beta program with updates for my watch, I had to try and I even went the extent of working out regularly and using most of the watches features and recommendations for health benefits.
My question, has sleep tracking always been horrendous or have I just not noticed. For at least the last two weeks it doesn't recognize me going to bed or falling asleep. Pretty much every night it says it takes me 2 hours to go to sleep. Last night for example, I went to bed at 10:30pm but the watch says I didn't fall asleep till 12:50am which messes with my sleep and energy scores. Making it very frustrating to get good information.
I wear my watch very tight on wrist. I use "sleep mode" and also have BPM setting to check my pulse constantly because I heard that if you have that turned on it will track sleep better. Anyone have any recommendations or tips or tricks or anything to help this situation out?
Attached is screenshot of sleep score. I added in sleep time manually for 1030pm to 1250am. The 1252am to 506am is what it tracked.

QuestionsHello @PhantomToes
Thank you for your detailed feedback on Sleep score issue.
There are numerous factors that the sensor uses to detect the wearer's bio rhythm. Assuming that your Watch4 has no hardware issues, sensor is designed to measure sleep from below key factors:
1. Body Movement (If the device detects no body movement for some time, it will start measuring sleep time)
2. Heart Rate (If average heart rate for adults are between 60~100 BPM, and falls below 60 when sleeping then watch will start measuring the time).
3. Environmental factors (Temperature of the room/body, Light visibility...)
Based on your watch wearing habit (tight on wrist, continuous heart rate measurement), you are doing correctly to measure your sleep score.
Although we may need more information from your error report to see the exact cause of the incorrect measurement, we can only assume that the watch detected some motion while you were trying to sleep from 10:30PM, but was not actually considered "sleeping". (Galaxy Wearable Beta app > Search for "Contact Us " > Error Report > Check on the "Send Diagnostic data" box and don't close your Samsung Members app until your device is sending the log to us) Small movements may include such as rolling on the bed/ phone usage / reading books / using laptops / smuggling with your friendly pet...etc.
However, if you believe that you've stayed absolutely static between 10:30PM to 12:50 AM or "passed out" and still observe incorrect measurement, then please don't hesitate to send the error back to us.

QuestionsHello,
Iāve been using my Classic Watch 4 for a couple of years, and recently, after participating in the beta program and using the watch extensively for health and fitness, Iāve encountered a significant issue with sleep tracking. For at least the past two weeks, the watch has consistently failed to recognize when I go to bed or fall asleep. For instance, last night I went to bed at 10:30 PM, but the watch recorded that I didnāt fall asleep until 12:50 AM. This discrepancy is impacting my sleep and energy scores, making it difficult to obtain accurate information.
Hereās what Iāve done to troubleshoot:
- Worn the watch tightly on my wrist.
- Used the "sleep mode" feature.
- Enabled continuous BPM (heart rate) monitoring, as I read this improves sleep tracking accuracy.
Iāve attached a screenshot of my sleep score, which shows manually entered sleep time from 10:30 PM to 12:50 AM and the tracked sleep from 12:52 AM to 5:06 AM.
Has anyone experienced similar issues or have recommendations for improving sleep tracking accuracy? Any tips or technical solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

QuestionsHi, thank you for your answers and comments. I do believe I figured out the issue based off your explanation.
I've started exercising a lot more and my watch says my resting hear rate has been elevated. So assuming it's looking for a heart rate below 60bps, I believe it takes time for my heart to slow which then triggers the sleep recognition on the watch.
So I'll give a few week to see if my heart settles down and it starts tracking better.
Thank you so much

QuestionsAbsolutely @PhantomToes, glad we helped.
Health experts advise to avoid exercises (would be your caseš) / caffeine / binging as it takes time for body to cool down and transit into "sleep-mode" state. Hopefully you could get a better sleep in the future.
