Google Play & Google Messages

Just received a notification on S25 that I need to update Google Play Services for my Google Messages to work properly. But we're not getting Play Updates in Beta so, does anyone know how badly this affects Messages? I know we're expecting stable to be out soon, but just want to know what I should be doing in the interim.

I don't use Google Messages, so I don't know. But I got 2 or 3 Google Play system updates. Try and see if there is an update available for you.

There hasn't been a Google Play System update in a while. Definitely not since Beta 4 dropped.

This happened to me, too, and it was a pain. It turns out I was using Google Play Services Beta and had to uninstall updates for it to get anything to work again. Then when I did that, I stopped getting notifications for almost every Google app and had to uninstall and reinstall each app individually. Clearing app cache didn't work.

I've had two Google Play Store updates since I started this beta that I have installed without any issues (including one just a few minutes ago). It's crazy that there're so many different experiences 😕.

I submitted a ticket for this but I'm also getting this message and my messages work fine . However I have chosen to ignore that alert whenever I get it.

At this time, the Google Play system update (GPSU) feature is temporarily paused on Beta models. This is intended behavior based on Samsung’s policy in coordination with Google.

While the update function is currently paused, all critical security fixes from Google have already been preloaded into the Beta software. You can continue using your device without concern during Beta.

The update functionality will resume at the appropriate time, either during the Beta or after the official release.
