My phone just updated to One UI 6.0, I never signed up for the Beta. Ever since it updated, I can place a phone call, but as soon as I do I keep getting a notification that the phone app has stopped working, I can't hang up, I can't put it on speaker, I can't do anything. The screen just flashes black during the call. If someone calls me, I can't answer or reject the call, it just pops up saying the phone app has stopped working.

Does anyone know what's going on with this?

I was told update installed not properly and I have to do a factory reset. Interesting everyone seems to be getting a different response from Samsung. Just got off the web chat and they said samsung has no idea about these issues and I was the first complaint. This post is a week old so obviously didn't need the lie detector test to determine that was a lie.

You can download Google Phone from the app store as a work around until they have a patch to fix the issue. My phone is doing the same as you described.

Same here! Finally FIXED IT!  I did everything fix mentioned, clear partition cache, repairs apps, etc...  downloaded Google phone which worked but could not access my contacts.  Tried to message a friend and my message app crashed mid message!

Out of frustration searched for more fixes which told me to not only clear data and cache from Contacts app but to make visible my System apps and then force stop and clear cache and data from Contacts Storage app.  I rolled my eyes thinking whatever...but did it and rebooted my phone and everything is working again!!!  Go figure.  What a frustrating several hours...  hope this helps someone else!

How do you make visible the system apps?

Follow these steps.

Go to Settings on your Samsung. Scroll down to Apps. This displays all of the apps on your phone (make Visible the System Apps).  Click on Contacts App.  Press Force Stop. Then Scroll down to Storage. Press Clear cache and clear data at the bottom of the screen. Then reboot.

Go to Settings -> Apps  Click the 3 lines that allow you to sort the list of apps and toggle the Show System Apps at the top of the sort options.
