Hello,

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Overheating during a restart, especially on a beta version, can occur for several reasons. Here are some common explanations:

1. Background Processes on Restart:

During a restart, the system may reinitialize numerous background services, apps, and processes. On a beta version, these processes might not be fully optimized, leading to increased CPU usage and heat generation.

2. Firmware Optimization Issues:

Beta firmware can sometimes have bugs or inefficient resource management, causing the device to run hotter than usual during certain tasks, including restarting.

3. Beta-Specific Debugging Tools:

Beta software often includes additional logging and debugging tools running in the background, which can increase system load and generate more heat.

4. Hardware Interaction During Update or Boot-Up:

Restarting may also trigger hardware components like the processor or GPU to operate at higher levels momentarily. If the firmware isn't optimized, this can lead to overheating.

5. Installed Apps Conflicts:

Some third-party apps may not be fully compatible with the beta OS and could cause excessive resource use during the startup process.

6. Thermal Management Glitches:

The beta might have issues with thermal management algorithms, causing the phone to overheat during tasks that shouldn't be demanding.

We suggest you update all apps to the latest versions, restarting the phone after a brief cooldown period, and check if any third-party apps might be triggering high resource usage.

If the issue persists, a factory reset or reverting to stable firmware (if possible) might help.

Regards,

One UI Beta Team
