I see that, over the past 18 months, several wristband devices have received FDA approval for blood pressure monitoring. Samsung, can your users expect Samsung Health to begin tracking blood pressure soon with the latest Galaxy Watch sensors?

Waiting years, as well as through every iteration of Samsung Watch since Watch Sport and Smartphone S9+ (I was part of the My BP Lab testing). Patience is running out.

I believe it's a matter of priority for Samsung. While Google charges a subscription for advanced Fitbit health monitoring, Samsung Health does not: it's the primary reason why we chose the new Watch Ultra and 7 over the Pixel watches. Being a no-cost addition to the Samsung ecosystem, however, Samsung likely doesn't place a lot of importance on adding things like BP monitoring (even though many of us would benefit from it). Perhaps if Samsung were to commission a survey of how many additional devices they would sell if Samsung Health tracked watch-based blood pressure, they would be more motivated to press FDA for approval.

Hello @The_Chief

Thank you for always providing an invaluable suggestion to Beta community šŸ™‚

Weā€™re thrilled that youā€™re keeping up with advancements in wearable technology, including the exciting progress in blood pressure monitoring. At Samsung, weā€™re continuously working to bring cutting-edge features to our devices while ensuring they meet the highest standards for accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

As for blood pressure tracking, itā€™s a priority for us to integrate such innovations responsibly and effectively. While some Galaxy Watch models already support blood pressure monitoring in certain regions, their availability depends on regulatory approvals, as these features are subject to strict medical device standards.

Weā€™re committed to expanding these capabilities and ensuring they are accessible to as many users as possible, pending the necessary certifications. Keep an eye on updates to Samsung Health and Galaxy Watch announcements, as weā€™ll be sharing more details about enhancements and new features as they become available.

We appreciate your enthusiasm and inputā€”it helps guide our efforts in developing technology that truly matters to our users.

Regards,
