Forreal we can't do anything with google messages and my vision is bad so I have to change how things look

Google Messages does do that as I can get and give reactions to messages etc. Perhaps Samsung will update their messages app to do that more comprehensively. I am unsure how much a user can do that with others or if it is consistent using Samsung Messages.

People who like Google Messages should buy a Pixel. It's actually better for them.

When was the last time you used Google messages? It 100% has reactions. Having said that, I would prefer Samsung messages to get updated with everything Google messages has now. My only issue with Google is it doesn't theme correctly for a Samsung device. It is meant for a pixel so it matches there. Would love to have a fully functioning Sammy messages I'm able to theme

Not even that Google Messages design is bad. It looks ugly, and has hard to reach menus.
