The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset equipped with a FastConnect 7800 subsystem, meaning it has all the hardware necessary to utilize Wi-Fi 7 but does not have that wireless band enabled on these devices.

So, my request is that this wireless band be enabled on these devices, as they already have the hardware to do so.

Note: I do not know the extent that would need to be taken by Samsung to do as, through regulations from Snapdragon and FCC (plus equivalent agencies in other regions).

I would imagine that would require reapproval by the FCC.

Won't happen; antennas are not optimized, I believe.

No. It's because they need to give you a reason to upgrade to a newer device. It's purely software.

Thank you for your feedback and well-informed request.

You're correct that the Galaxy S23 Ultra includes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with FastConnect 7800, which supports Wi-Fi 7 at the hardware level. However, enabling Wi-Fi 7 also depends on software certification, regional regulatory approvals (such as FCC and others), and Samsung's internal validation process to ensure consistent performance across networks and devices.

While we can't promise changes, we’ve shared this type of feedback with the development team before and will continue to pass it along. Your input helps shape future connectivity support decisions.
