I'm coming from a pixel where the do not disturb status is an icon in the status bar. Having a notification reminding me that I have do not disturb is very annoying since my phone is in DND 24/7. In addition, if I want to turn it off, there's a quick settings toggle for it.
The notification is redundant and can't be minimized or dismissed and it even shows up on the cover screen!
I can't think of why forcing thin on people is a good idea.
