Samsung needs to discontinue all its apps and use Google apps.

Why doesn't Samsung just leave things alone and give people the choice of what they want to use?

90% of us don't like using Google Messaging. Also, it has no freedom of customization like Samsung Messaging.

It's a requirement from Google. To have the play store YOU need to have their services. A lot of people don't want Google apps, but they are required to have them because of the Play Store. Have Google change their requirements things can change.

@Slate_Rose  SMS/MMS and RCS messaging is going to be carrier initiated, not by Samsung nor Google. Using another messaging app would mean carriers have basically two platforms to support and their concerns are profits, not wants and two platform mean more spending. And people do have choices and the idea for Samsung to get rid of all of its apps to making them all Google types. then may as well just buy a Pixel.

Imagine the uproar if Samsung stopped updating Good Lock and its plugins and most customization were removed?

Exactly I don't want only google apps on my phone. I use plenty of Samsung apps only. Like notes, calendar, browser, gallery, voice recorder, weather. So there's definitely a lot of different apps I use that are only connected to Samsung I think getting worried of the option and making us use Google only is absolutely absurd

I don't have a problem with Google messaging but there's plenty of other messengers that do the same thing without using RCS. So because they're removing Samsung messages means they should do the opposite of what the OP posted and not give us a choice and force us to only use Google apps. That seems like cognitive dissonance right there. If they forced us to only use Google apps then that would be taking away our choice.

They should continue to let customers who care about their messaging app looking pretty use Samsung Messages without RCS.

And then those of us who want secure messages, no character limit, higher quality image, video and audio sharing etc to use Google Messages.
