SuggestionsDear Samsung Product Development Team,
I hope this message finds you well. Following my previous suggestion regarding the Home Screen interface, I am writing to propose a comprehensive redesign of the Full-Screen Music Player on the Lock Screen for future One UI updates.
Lock Screen Music Player Concept
While full-screen media controls offer an immersive experience, current implementations often obscure critical lock screen utilities. My proposal focuses on a visually stunning full-screen player that maintains seamless access to the fingerprint scanner and lock screen shortcuts. I have attached a concept image to this message to visualise the layout.
Concept: Immersive & Functional Lock Screen Media
Benefits of the Redesign
1. Uncompromised Accessibility: A common pain point with full-screen media players is the obstruction of the fingerprint sensor and quick-access shortcuts (such as the Camera or Phone). This proposal ensures these elements remain visible and interactive, overlaying the album art unobtrusively. This allows users to unlock their device or access shortcuts without needing to collapse the media player first.
2. Modern Aesthetic Appeal: By utilizing high-resolution album art that spans the entire screen with an adaptive blur or gradient integration, the device feels more premium and modern. This creates a deeply immersive listening experience that rivals the visual fidelity of competitors.
3. Streamlined Usability: Users should not have to choose between aesthetics and function. By keeping the fingerprint reader and shortcuts available, the user flow remains uninterrupted. This reduces friction when a user wants to quickly check a notification or unlock their phone while listening to music.
Implementation Suggestions
Smart Layout: Position media controls (Play/Pause/Skip/Scrubber) slightly higher or lower to leave a dedicated "clear zone" for the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor icon and the bottom corner shortcuts.
Visual Integration: Use dynamic text colouring based on the album art to ensure the clock, battery status, and shortcut icons remain legible against the full-screen background.
Concept Reference: Please refer to the attached concept image, which demonstrates how the album art can dominate the screen while preserving the exact location and functionality of the fingerprint reader and app shortcuts.
I believe this refinement would significantly elevate the One UI lock screen experience, blending beauty with the practicality Samsung users expect.
Thank you for your time and for considering this suggestion. I look forward to seeing how One UI continues to evolve.
Best regards,
King Wamble One UI 8.5 Beta Participant
