One UI 7 is taking a long time, considering it's been worked on for 3 years. I'm not too surprised.

But I'd like to see hardware changes that'll make this process smoother.

It begins with the Hardware, not Software. Samsung should only have to Optimize for 3 Screens.

Galaxy S, Z Fold Cover, & Z Flip Inner should have the same Aspect Ratio. They are Operate the Same.

Z Fold Inner and Z Flip Cover are the two that need Separate Optimization. (Obviously).

As of Now, Developers need to Optimize for 5 Different Screen Layouts even even though 3/5 Operate the same.

Galaxy S25 Series has an Aspect Ratio of 19:5:9.
Galaxy Z Flip Inner is 22:9
Galaxy Z Fold Cover is 22:1:9 (Inner 20:9/18)

Not only is Android Fragmentation already an issue, this is just adding more issues on top of it.

Google already has this down with a 20:9 Aspect Ratio Across the Entire Pixel 9 Line Up, what makeā€™s the 9 Pro Fold Inner Screen better is the 1:1 Aspect Ratio.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your insights on aspect ratio standardization and optimization challenges. Youā€™ve highlighted an important considerationā€”hardware consistency can play a major role in streamlining software optimization for both Samsung and third-party developers.

Samsung continuously evaluates how to balance innovation, usability, and developer accessibility across different form factors, including the Galaxy S, Z Flip, and Z Fold series. While foldables offer unique experiences, your point about reducing fragmentation by standardizing aspect ratios where possible is certainly a discussion worth having.

We appreciate your feedback and will share it with the relevant teams. If others in the community have thoughts on this, feel free to join the discussion! Your input helps drive future improvements in both hardware and software design.

Thanks again for contributing to the conversation.

Regards,

One UI Beta Team
