Back in the days on Grace UX there was a nice charging animation that was different from wired to wireless. When wired, it would show some dots around the charge port growing, and when wireless charging it would have a circle of dots emerge from the center. This was a lot more subtle and nicer looking than the current design.
I don't think that design should come back as it was back then, but something inspired by that would be nice. Or maybe just have the battery icon in the top right expand to indicate it?
Just something less... jarring than the current one.
