Will Samsung ever consider implementing USB restricted mode. Most devices are wireless these days and the USB port can pose a security risk if not properly protected. Apple has for that reason!

Not entirely sure the difference, but for me my s22 ultra won't let me manage files or anything over usb until the phone is unlocked.

It's possible to use port to inject malicious code in an effort to extract secrets when device is in AFU state or on and password entered after reboot, but screen lock is active. Apple blocks the port after one hour on inactivity, or device isn't unlocked by the owner in 60 minutes. It provides better protection against physical attacks through the port.
