Visual voicemail

I would like to see visual voicemail built into/incorporated into the phone app, rather than having a separate standalone app just for visual voicemail. 

Which I do know that there is a visual voicemail button in the phone app that then redirects you to the standalone visual voicemail app. I just think that in this day and age it can be incorporated rather than a standalone app.

Totally agree. I've been saying this for so many One UI betas now. How has it not been done yet when Apple and Google both have this.

It's likely they do it because the application is disabled when you use certain US carriers. I don't have it at all.

Yes I mentioned this to samsung but it looks like a decision on their end to please carriers. But their contract with carriers doesn't require them to have no voicemail app they just choose to use the carrier one or have none at all. They have nothing stopping them from adding a section to the phone app since it would not breech any contract with the big 3 carriers.

The button disappears from the Google Phone app unless you have the right phone/carrier.

Idea
The voicemail tab maintaining the same theme, but being able to play the voicemail directly from that tab on the left of the keypad tab.

I would also like to see a visual voicemail app incorporated into the phone app. It certainly can be done with the amount of duplicate Samsung apps that I don't want, how about one that would simplify life?
