On this beta 1, object eraser (only erase object function) seems to not be working in normal gallery app, but it somehow works fine in Secure folder.
If you want to use this feature on a photo, you may want to move the photo to the Secure folder. Then you go and edit the photo in gallery app inside the Secure folder. Once you are done, you can move it out of the Secure folder.
This is a known issue. You may use the following workaround:
