Thank you, @Nibula! I was fooling with this yesterday and thought the only way to get the Media control was to switch to combined instead of separate to panels. I'm glad that button does the same.
Not true, never has for me on stable or beta going back to S10 (possibly even before). I always have to switch media output if I'm connected to a vehicle and want to hear something on my phone.
