I updated, but I kinda wish I hadn't. My whole layout changed, and all my customizations are gone. I can't even edit anything because it says it's not supported.

If you don't like it, you can always uneroll and go back to oneui 8.5 with smartswitch but backup your data before you do

You can leave the beta and get your old layout back and then you can enjoy it for another 6 months to a year, or you can stay in and post your objections and issues in the beta forum and help them improve it.  The final product may bear little resemblance to the starting point.
