Dark theme not working

In my Gmail app after installing beta 3 dark mode wasn't working, selected it again, it worked for a bit. Reopened the app and it says dark mode as default but it isn't dark.

In some apps like Gmail, there is this setting. If you use System default, it should just follow your system settings that you choose.

Dark mode gmail is working on my ultra. I can switch between light and dark. Normally set to system default.

Might be a one off, when I switched it to white mode and back to auto it worked. Don't know what happened but it seemst seems to work. I'll try restarting it to see if it holds.
