Swiping left to Google feed doesn't work after installing beta #4, but the battery life seemed to improve.

Are you certain it's enabled? Maybe it turned off after beta4 update.

Yes it is, when I don't press on the home screen I can see the Google feed.

So, when you long press on the Home screen and it goes to configuration mode, then swipe to the right, you see the Enable toggle is On in upper right, like the screenshot ?
