 When I try to open a folder on the home screen, I get the "One UI keeps stopping" message.

This is due an incompatibility between One UI 5 and HomeUp from GoodLock - uninstall HomeUp, wait for One UI 5 Beta 4, or wait for a HomeUp update.

Another option is to call out the application in the folder by searching for it directly

Hello,
This is a known issue and has been fixed internally. Fix will be included as part of next software update.  In the meantime, please follow the suggestion by @blazeBark for a workaround.
