Interactions with Shell App - throws exception error on screen when paying

So last night I went to fill up gas at my local Shell station and I used the Shell App to process my payment transaction but the transaction still went through. Interesting. Anyone else have issues with similar types of payment processing from Shell or other such similarly functioning apps, please post comments here below with screenshots. I couldn't get one last night but I'll probably be able to do it tomorrow as I'll be doing it again on my day road trip.

So I finally got to replicate this issue and am attaching a screenshot for the issue discussed here. It's not happening every single time per settings but it's still often enough to warrant notice.
