I have seen post regarding user not seeing the wave animation for now bar or quick panel while playing music or any type of media. The reason this may not show is due to apps like Spotify that require you to have a premium subscription in order to move the slider to adjust the song playtime. So if you have the premium subscription it will show if you don't it will not because that app does not allow you to.
Interesting I recently bought it to test and it worked and showed the animation after purchase my other music app Rythm also shows it but does not use a type of premium subscription.
