I lost everything. It's the first beta I've ever downloaded that had major bugs. Lost key phone functions and had to set up Smart Switch on my laptop to force back the previous update. Wasn't aware it factory wipes the device. I lost ALL of my photos. The one's that hit the hardest are the one's of my kids. Because I haven't kept up with all basic changes, I wasn't aware Samsung no longer backed those up. Thought I was saved when I saw a backup from just the day prior. Google Photos and Drive only went back so far because of storage being full for a while now. 21 months of memories gone. I believed myself to have taken every precaution to avoid this and still fell victim to ignorance.
Setting it up to Smart Switch to force back the previous stable update is what wiped it, not the beta itself. I believed everything to had already been backed up. The bugs I dealt with right off were UI crashing, phone calls/texts not coming in or out, mobile service rendering to exist. I pulled myself from testing within a very short period of time.
Terrible lesson to learn. Samsung hasn't backed up your photos to their cloud in a very long time You either chose One Drive or Google Photos. When you check your nightly backup to Samsung cloud, nowhere does it list photos as part of the backup.
I am so sorry you experienced this loss of all of your photos and precious memories. They clearly warn you to backup everything on your phone prior to installing the Beta because things can go horribly wrong.
The exact same issues I was coming across with a few others. I've only had a few small bugs on previous beta's I've tried out that didn't raise concern.
