Those reports were I believe based on the fact that we probably won't see a stable Android 12 releaae until either the very end of the month or the first half of October. Samsung seems to have said screw it, we need our beta tested so we're not so far behind once stable releases.

The delayed rumor was a rumor.
Today's beta was announced by Samsung itself.
