I had run into the issue where you can't add a payment card to Google Wallet because of the beta, but I accidentally discovered a way to do it.
Open the Google app and tap on your avatar in the top right.
Tsp the button to manage your Google account.
Scroll to the right and tap Payments and Subscriptions.
You'll now have the option to add or manage payment methods. I already had a couple of payment methods in there, and, when I opened them, I had the option to set them up for tap to pay. I did that, which required me to verify the CVV and agree to the terms, but, after that, they were added to Google Wallet and now appear in the app.
For me the problem is not that I can't add a payment method, it's that they're already enabled but the Google Wallet app itself does not work with the beta. The really strange thing is it worked perfectly fine for over a month, then shortly br beta 4 dropped it just stopped working.
