Strange app showed up after updating to OneUi 8 Beta.

So, after updating to OneUi 8 Beta, I noticed that an app appeared in my app menu. When trying to click on it, it force closes and disappears. Not sure what it is. So I "disabled" it for now. Is this part of the OneUi 8 Beta, or is it some rogue app that you just have to deal with, with this build? 

Hopefully it won't be there in Beta 2. Other than that, everything is great with OneUi 8. I can't complain. 

Any feedback on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an image of the app/icon? What is the app name?

Happened to me when phone first booted up after installing the beta. It's called Galaxy beta service. It disappears from app drawer but is still located in apps.

That just means your part of the beta program and will disappear when the betas ocer

The use of that app is just a pop up saying that you're running beta software, every time you boot up your device.

I currently do not have a screenshot, image, app icon unfortunately. If I see it again, I will be sure to take one. It was just named "Terminal" and it was a green and black icon.

Thank you, ucyaboy, for the heads-up. I tried to search for the app but no results came up. I have all my apps organized and in folders, so if it did show up again, it will be outside of those folders like it was before. But again, strangely, it doesn't show up anywhere else in my apps, even after searching for it.

This by default and cannot be disabled or chosen to be "Not allowed". If you go to setting/apps and then to Galaxy beta service, then click on notifications, you will see the notification pop-up style is set to brief.

This is the app. I was able to disable it. Not sure why I can't delete it.

I heard that Android 16 may have added Linux related functionality and perhaps this is related. Maybe your install accessed a new terminal feature to run Linux programming. Doesn't seem sinister to me

Go into "Apps" it might be there. Showed right up when I went into my apps from settings.
