Why the 5G icon was changed? This one looks ugly.

Mine shows one of two ways, as attached

Mine is exactly like yours and I have the unlocked S21 Ultra version. I noticed the 5G icon depends on your carrier.

Mine was like that ( that's my pic) but now since beta 2 it went back to the big 5G... Weird.

Weird #2 ... I disabled Wifi and turned Data on ... now I don't see 5g, but only see "LTE+"

What does the first 5G icon you captured mean? The hollowed out box icon vs the white box icon? What carrier do you have?

Yes. Previously it was just one big 5G just beside the signal bars.
