Why does the RAM fill up so quickly? I select the "clean now" option and it does, but a minute later I go back to check and it's full again. I used to have a Galaxy S23 Ultra and upgraded to an S25 Ultra and transferred the same apps to my new phone, but I didn't have this problem before.

It really is nothing worry about. It is not filling back up in the sense that is taking up RAM that can never be used, rather RAM that is there operating with the majority apps that run a great deal and keeps the background functions of those app stored in RAM for fast activation when the app is called back up is kind of like being cached. If one goes into developer mode, the very first thing shown is the RAM being used and almost all of the time there is more free RAM then there is used RAM. One can scroll down farther and open "Running services" and that will give them a picture and what is using RAM with only some to be recovered from the system. 3-4GBs will always be used by the system, with easily 2.5-3GB not able to be used (necessary system functions).

RAM that is being use for other purposes will be free when the user starts operating other apps taking up more RAM resources and it will stop running the previous apps, freeing up the RAM. It is fail safe of sorts. In the end, free RAM and the RAM used in the background for user apps, are all free RAM. That background stuff is not all locked, most locked is the system, it is just making the functions and apps run faster for loading them (again). If you want the math I will show how RAM functions in data (binary) and decimal (physical).

Does this mean it's not necessary to "clean RAM" every time? Does the phone do this automatically? And what about RAM Plus? Will it be necessary to activate it to give the system more RAM, or is it unnecessary?

Yes, the system has worked that way for decades. It releases RAM storing background functions on apps least used at that time to use on the newly opened app. Seriously, if your device is showing even 1gig of *free* RAM, you are ok and the vast majority of it is cached data.

On RAM plus, it is not needed as that only sets an amount to be used for more app usage. It's good if you multi-task but for most users, they don't use their devices on that scale. The system already does that anyway best for typical user. And RAM plus does not mean more physical RAM, that already exist in the phone as 12GBs and some software change is not going create extra physical RAM.

Just Google the purpose of RAM plus.

Unused RAM is wasted RAM. It doesn't hurt anything to have the RAM being used. The phone will manage the RAM usage automatically.

Are you noticing some type of issue that you need the RAM to not be used?
