I have an unlocked phone from Samsung, if I switch from Xfinity mobile to Google fi, how will the updates be handled? Will I remain in beta/receive official update?

Feel free to share you experiences. I'm thinking I probably just leave the beta prior.

Thanks.

It is recommended to switch after, since the beta is tied to your (unlocked/tmobile) device and switching networks will kick you out, all you will need to do than is to DM USBetaModerator3 and they should let you back in

I have an unlocked phone with Verizon. I was with other companies and always got the beta but didn't switch during the beta time, so I don't know. All I know is that you will always get the beta no matter what company you're with because it's an unlocked phone.

@-CROW- But did you not once specifically state that your unlocked device ends with the "U" model, but is in the beta currently? It is correct that the carrier does not matter if the phone is factory bought unlocked (model name ends in "U1") direct from Samsung or like Best Buy. But if a phone is bought from a carrier that has its firmware on it, it will end in a "U" only and then only T-Mobile devices are eligible. It does not matter if the phone is unlocked by the carrier even after meeting carrier conditions, if the device end with a "U" only, the Members app will flag that as ineligible sans formerly being T-Mobile.

Thanks for the clarification. 👍.
That's correct
My current phone is U1 from Samsung. The other one I had was a U. I got rid of it because I knew it's not intentional unlocked and it was previously T-Mobile.

I would suggest deleting or editing a recent post you made in the S25 community where it says this. 1770228336072.jpg

Sir, I said the S25U unlocked ends with U, and I used a Verizon SIM card. I had the beta 8.5 at that time. What was wrong with that? And why would I delete it?
When I found out later that U is T-Mobile unlocked, I got rid of it and replaced it with an S25U U1, which is international unlocked.
I honestly don't know how to explain that to you. I'm confused.

Hello,

Thank you all for sharing your thoughtful feedback.

Once you've changed your carrier from Xfinity to Google fi, your device may or may not restart for network provisioning. At this phase, your beta registration status may change as there was a network update.

If your updates become unavailable (showing "processing to join beta...") please let us know via community board or DM, and we will update your status.

Thank you for your contribution to beta program.

Regards,

One UI Beta Team
