Can we get RCS back on samsung messages? I have the s24 ultra and I prefer to use Samsung messages, why was it taken away?

There are several reasons. Google, the owner of the platform is pushing this. Carriers no longer want to support RCS in Samsung Messages because it saves millions of $$$ to not have to support huge servers to run those RCS Messages. They will only have just SSM/MMS fallback. Carriers also want you to use your DATA plan when you don't have access to Wifi to send those hi-res photos and videos. Carriers want you to go to higher data plans at a higher cost for those that are still on limited plans.

Google Messages go through their own servers.

I'm using Samsung messages currently and I have RCS on mines .. i prefer Samsung. Messaging app because you can customize it vs Googles
