I remember stock Android 10 had a better way to start screen recording. It was hold power button and you would get an option to take screenshot, power off, restart, but if you long press the screenshot long enough it would start screen capture the feature was hidden under dev options though.
I prefer screen cam over the built in recorder since the Samsung screen recording immediately stops when you go to lock screen, also you can simply long press on the app start recording right away with out going to the pull down menu
