The battery was already short in Beta 2, but now the battery is fatter and making it look even shorter in Beta 3. Also, in Beta 2, the battery icon was at least similar height compared to other icons. Now, the battery is much bigger. Meanwhile, all other icons remain small, making it look inconsistent and uglier.
They need to make it consistent. So battery icon sits well with other icons. Also it's now too far and short so then need to make it slightly longer then align all other icons with it. For example...
