Samsung Messages on my S25 Ultra is stuck on version 15.7.04.3 while my friend's S24 Ultra got a new icon with OneUI 7 and is on version 16.1.10.62. Version 16 was supposed to be released in OneUI 7 but I never got it. Version 15 is from OneUI 6.1 which the S25 Ultra never even had. Can we expect a new update with stable OneUI 8.5 release or are we permanently stuck with v15?Screenshot_20251230_214308_One UI Home.jpg

Feature-wise yes, UI/UX-wise nope and that's a dealbreaker for me

I agree, I switch between them whenever Samsung releases an update to try it out and then go back Google messages

Why do you feel Samsung messages are better than Google?
Now that they do not allow for themes I wonder ๐Ÿค” why one is better than the other?

That's the last update for the S25U. And you can't switch back and forth between Samsung Messages and Google Messages because RCS takes time to be activated on Samsung Messages. Samsung Messages is way better than Google Messages for a lot of reasons.

Can you elaborate on your favorite reasons why Samsung messages is better? I use to use Samsung but changed to Google for the iPhone compatibility. Recently it hasn't been working though

I just don't like the look of the UI and lack of true amoled mode + I very much hate the icon. That's all. And since Samsung Messages switched to Google's Jibe RCS, I have no incentive to use Google Messages. I don't need niche features like reactions. Replies would be nice to have but it's not a dealbreaker. RCS with iPhones works fine in Samsung Messages.

I like the statics and look and color and background, also more of Samsung Ai compatibility, but I also have been using google, the only reason I use google because Samsung doesn't have Archive message function, otherwise I will go back, same with Samsung keyboard vs G board, Samsung has netter customizations but suckes at spelling and text prediction
