Just a heads-up to set all the notifications you want to receive in the notification settings first. Once the update happens you won't get notifications for most apps until you set which apps you want to receive notifications for.

I had to go into notifications and grant access. Way faster than checking each app

I did it with recent notifications in notification settings but glad there's another way.

Settings > Notifications > Recently Sent : More > Drop down : Notifications Turned Off

No idea. Best guess is Samsung get a few complaints about how they handle notifications so I guess they're just giving us more control by deciding ourselves from the start what we want to see.

It's all part of the new privacy settings from Google more than likely. Some apps have access they aren't meant to have nor need.
