I was prompted from the Samsung Smart Switch app that an update was available. I was about 85 percent through the update process when an error message popped up. I received a recovery code and was asked whether I would like to run emergency recovery. Fortunately, the emergency recovery completed successfully and the phone works again. I am just posting this to let others know this can happen and you might not have the same result as I did.
