Anyone having issues with android auto. Before I was able to go into my car phone in lock mode and plug it in though USB and my Spotify would play automatically and android auto would display right away. Now I have to unlock my phone for any of that to do so. Plus if I get a call while on android auto. I answer but I can't hear the other person and when I try to switch from talking through the car to the phone the screen freezes or stalls up

It could be the new setting "block USB connections while locked". You probably need to unlock your phone or change that setting. I found it was preventing me from connecting to my external monitor without unlocking first.

I have the setting turned on, and no issues with starting Android Auto.

Don't recommend turning off this security feature at all. Think about if your phone was stolen. The thief could access your phone via USB.

Why I believe Android Auto works with the security setting enabled is two fold.

1. Use Bixby Modes to keep your phone unlocked when connected to certain devices, home wifi, galaxy watch your vehicles Bluetooth. Your phone is unlocked so the security setting would not apply.

2. Android Auto settings.
Start AA when phone is locked. There is a setting for this in the AA app.
Go to the phone's settings,... Connected Devices and Android Auto.
Several useful settings there.

Hope this helps! 1735322605100.jpg
