Not unusual

Google Pay isn't certified either ... and won't even execute ... it's because a beta isn't "official"

Did you happen to factory reset? I think the device certification stays if you initially update from an official build to the beta, but resetting erases that flag.Screenshot_20211023-125118_Google Play Store_45243.png

Nope no factory reset. A simple backup then the
OTA update is all I did.

Interesting. Well, like @user751201tmO21 said, it's to be expected.. especially with Google Pay also not working due to the beta firmware being "unofficial"

Google Play on my S21U has always showed certified for all 3 Android 12 betas. Which is quite unusual for a beta.

I factory reset mine after beta 2 and it was still certified. Still am on beta 3.
