Read customer input, no one prefers the One UI 3 theme over vanilla Android 12

On this topic I've been watching youtube videos and reading reddit comments non-stop about Samsung sticking to the old one UI theme a bit obsessively now and have noticed that NO ONE wants this theme over stock Android 12, everyone was excited to get updated core GUI elements but it looks like everything is the same or worse in some cases, how do you make messages more depressing when the point was to do the opposite.

If you want pure Android your best bet is to get a pixel device

I'm seriously about to, even after buying every flagship from Samsung since the note 4 hahaha. But I didn't want vanilla Android 12, I just wanted it to actually upgrade with the new features / and elements. They kept it almost the exact same, feeling like an out of date OS, this is the most dramatic Android update ever, the messaging app shouldn't look like they downgraded it to what comes on the gas station burner phones lmao

That's not the point - the point is Android 12 w/ "Material You" was supposed to be a major, the biggest redesign ever, but so far, the One UI 4 is just bland. I did read somewhere that Samsung was planning a BIG update, which included an overhaul of the UI. Hopefully we'll get it in the 2nd beta.

I just upgraded to this S21 from a Pixel 3xl. I planned on getting the Pixel 6 until I saw the obnoxious price. I don't mind the UI so far though, I just disable most of the Samsung stuff i don't use.

Custom launcher would be my recommendation. Nova. Lawnchair.

I have one, was more so looking forward to updates in the notification shade, quick launch, volume, messages, all the bells and whistles of Android 12, but everything is basically the exact same or even more bland now.

The only features that the vanilla 12 has that I want are material you features along with some 9f the advanced caller options. While vanilla android is nice it lacks alot of key features, but as stated above use a 3rs party launcher and get that look you want. I recommend lawnchair and nova, Hyperion is also very good.
