Refresh stuck at 120hz?

If you turn on '"show refresh rate" in developer options, you'll see the screen's refresh rate. Under normal operation the screen will switch to 120 hz as soon as it detects touch input, and will drop to 60 after a few seconds. It will also drop the refresh rate in apps like YouTube, or on the Always on Display. Currently, I'm experiencing the screen basically locked at 120hz, even in youtube or the AOD. My main concern is the hit to battery life if the screen is always at 120hz. Anyone else experiencing this?

That is super bizarre, but I'm seeing the refresh rate actually change after I manually increase brightness like you suggested. It's like it has to be past a certain brightness threshold.

or adaptive brightness can be on as long as you're in a brighter environment. try shining a flashlight on the phone when it gets stuck at 120 and see what happens

I sent one in when it happened...wasn't sure if it was an actual error or just me not remembering a setting. seems like it could be an easy fix to change some adaptive brightness thresholds.
