For me it's almost anything that is heavy causes phone to overheat. For example launching 4-5 apps back to back, anything that uses the camera, using the phone with high brightness.
Samsung need to fix this. My battery life got worse in Oneui7 and now further worse in Oneui8
I've had my S24U for awhile and have never had that issue. It only ever gets pretty warm and hot when I'm recording videos like OP said, during an software update, or right after the first reboot after a cache clear. (Which is cools down after a couple of minutes)
Similar experience but Samsung can do more with processing media and heavy lifting with process intensive apps. Battery life over all could be better. Eliminate the background bloat for starters.
