I had to keep sideloading the Samsung version of GM otherwise it would update the regular version unless there is way to make it update Samsung everytime?

You can still update, but it always removes the Samsung theme and I'd end up having to sideload again

We do not recommend installing from apk file due to security concerns of the hosting site.
