Icon?

Green Dot or Green Voice icon, randomly pops up in the upper right hand corner of screen. Seems to be activated by Voice??. Purpose? Function?.

It is to alert you that some application is using your microphone. There are other ones as well such as for the camera.

Seems likely that it is. Activating voice to text I get the initial voice icon and then the Green Dot stays for the length of the activation.

It's a feature android copied from Apple I think it came out in the iOS 14 update last year. I have that icon on my iPad.

My only thing about it, is it seems to activate randomly when I'm just scrolling Facebook with no sounds. What could be activating the mic?
