When the official released is done do I need to reset the phone or just update it to the latest version.

You can just update it to stable. It's up to you if you want to reset or not.

Thats user choice, but I have seen people do it after a major update tho

I have been fortunate to be able to update without a factory reset every time.

True, I haven't had to do a factory reset after stable I only do it when I want to have refreshed feeling

I plan to after. I have always noticed slight changes when I do and allow apps to set themselves up fresh on the new OS. Not everyone wants the hassle, though.
