OneUI has done a relatively great job of adopting many features from 3rd party launchers, but for some reason this one still lingers. Have a dock of apps is a thing of the past especially for power users.
This is no different than having the option to use gesture navigation. Full customization requires the ability to remove the app dock.
This would be a non-issue if 3rd party launchers supported foldable; but that isn't the case yet.
