Always On Display stays at 60Hz instead of going down to 24Hz

As you can see (picture attached), the AOD stays constantly at 60Hz.

I have adaptive refresh rate mode turned on and it works perfectly when phone is unlocked (for example, when looking at a still image it goes down to 24Hz), but on AOD it is hardcoded to 60Hz.

I currently use a third party app as a workaround (which forces the AOD refresh rate to 10Hz), but I shouldn't have to rely on a third party app!

AOD should go down to 24Hz in order to improve battery life!
