The navigation gesture bar should not be dependent on the status bar up top. When I swipe on the gesture bar, the status bar always pops up and you have to swipe twice in certain apps to go home. This should not be the case. If I swipe to go home or go to recent apps, I should be taking there in one swipe rather than swiping twice. It also looks worse since an action is happening at the top of the screen when you're swiping at the bottom and expecting an action to happen there. It makes the phone feel less responsive. Please allow the gesture bar to act independently the status bar.
