I have an app called thinkorswim and it requires me to give it storage permissions. However, by accessing the app's permissions, storage isn't a option for permissions. What do I need to do?

If you are unable to find the storage permission option for the thinkorswim app, you can try the following steps:

  1. Go to your device's "Settings" app and select "Apps & notifications" or "Application manager."
  2. Find the thinkorswim app and tap on it.
  3. Select "Permissions" from the app's menu.
  4. If you don't see the storage permission option, look for an option called "Files and media" or "Media," and see if you can grant permission to that.
  5. If you still can't find the storage permission, you may need to grant the app permission to access your device's storage in a different way. To do this, you can try going to your device's "Settings" app, selecting "Storage," and then finding the thinkorswim app in the list of apps. From there, you may be able to grant the app access to your device's storage.

If none of these steps work, you can try contacting the thinkorswim app's support team for further assistance.

Newer app uses/updates are required to use Android storage picker in-app to allow a storage location. They won't work with storage without this except for the next possibility.

Older non updated apps on recent Android versions are what you're thinking of. There's caveats to this. There's also another possibility that's normally denied from Play Store.

Android has changed with storage use the past 3 years. Its now long enough that you have to see it and experience it if you didn't before. Its a lot of work for app developers sadly so some apps will still not be compatible.
