Phone rings once, then goes silent but continues ringing

My phone rings one time (sound) but after that no sound but continues to rings, any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to the Community! We are glad you are here! It does seem puzzling that the phone only rings once out loud, but continues to ring silently. We'll be happy to assist you in figuring this out! There are a couple of possibilities.

1. Have you verified you aren't accidentally pressing the side button or brushing against the screen silencing the call?

2. Have you tried testing a different ringtone?

3. Test the phone in Safe Mode to make sure there are no apps interfering with the calls. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062983/

4. Clear the cache partition and repair apps in Recovery Mode.

To get to recovery mode: 

- Turn off phone

- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously 

- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears

- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET) 

- Use power button to select. 

- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.
