The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the latest foldable phone from Samsung, and it's set to be released on August 11, 2023. The phone is rumored to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. It will also have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display on the outside and a 7.6-inch AMOLED display on the inside. The camera lineup is expected to remain the same as last year's model, with a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide camera, and 10MP telephoto camera.

One of the biggest changes to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is the upgraded hinge. The new hinge is said to be stronger and more durable, and it will also allow the phone to close completely flat. This will make the foldable feel thinner and more pocket-friendly.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 looks like a promising device. It has a powerful processor, a large and versatile display, and a durable hinge. If you're looking for a high-end foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is a great option.

Here are some of the pros and cons of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5:

I had the fold 3, screen split, insurance covered it but then a little after the one year period my inside screen protector started pealing & my phone screen split again with one side not working. I traded it in for s23 ultra but I really did & still do love the fold. I just will wait til that issue doesn't exist anymore before I buy a fold again. Enjoy your phone.

@FreshTexan I agree that the Fold 5 is incredible. Ever since the Fold 3 I have been sold on the Fold architecture and execution. Love the use of either narrow or big screen depending on scenario. I have found many scenarios where Flex mode is incredibly useful.

I know that there are some people who still prefer the candy bar design but I probably won't go back. I have an S23U that I use now and then when I need the extra camera zoom. But the Fold 5 is my daily driver.

I have bought myself Galaxy z fold 5 for about 2 weeks ago, traded in my Galaxy s22 ultra phone for $1,000 off, I love my new z fold phone, can't say how much it helps me with work and multitasking makes it easier than before, ordered me a Z fold 5 case with z fold s pen for my z fold 5 on Amazon. I'm happy I made a great choice with the phone purchase.

Which case did you buy? I bought the Spigen Tough Armor ProP case. It has a kickstand for the open phone and it internally stores an S Pen.

Hello everyone, I've been considering purchasing a new phone, and the Samsung Z Fold 5 has caught my attention. I've been a long-time Android user and prefer sticking with Samsung over switching to an iPhone. I tend to keep my phones for at least three years, and I'm currently using a budget Realme phone that's served me for the past three years. Now, the Z Fold 5's unique design has piqued my interest as a departure from the conventional phone design.

I'm hesitant to rely solely on YouTube reviews since they often use phones briefly, and some tech reviewers may have biased opinions. So, I'm turning to real customers who use this phone daily for their insights. Would you recommend the Z Fold 5, or should I explore other options?

I plan to purchase Samsung Care+ with the phone, so I'm curious about the warranty and repair services Samsung offers. Are there any known defects or issues with the display or hinge of this phone? And finally, can I expect the Z Fold 5 to hold up well over three or four years of careful use? I'm proud to say that I've only dropped my current phone once in the last three years.

Given the fact that you want to keep your phone for a prolonged period of time, and from my own personal expertise and knowledge, I think the Galaxy S23 Ultra would be a better long-term choice to suite your needs. Although the Fold 5 is an excellent device spec-wise, it does not have the durability of regular bar style phones. You can expect to replace the screen protector on the phone during your time with it at least once (probably more, but covered by Samsung Care+ and your warranty) and you have to be especially careful when it is unfolded to avoid damaging the inner screen. Parts on these phones are also often in high demand and limited, so if you need a repair for any reason you might have to ship it to Samsung, rather than have it serviced at a Samsung authorized center. Just a few things to think about. I am also very interested in obtaining a Foldable, but I'm not willing to trade in the superior camera and robustness of my S series for the cutting edge (yet delicate) folding screen technology the Z series offers (as tempting as it is).

@Dr-green69  I've had the Fold 3, Fold 4, and now the Fold 5. The only issue that I ever had was that the screen protector on the Fold 3 starting coming off. Samsung replaced it for free at the 837 store when I was visiting New York for the Fold 4 unpacked.

I don't see myself ever going back to a candy bar phone. I have an S23U that just sits on my desk.
